Confection Confessions: Chocolate & Coffee at Seattle’s Chocolati

(Yup, the title is a mouthful, but hey, I couldn’t help myself.)Chocolati in Seattle

There is nothing better than chocolate and coffee at the same table, except maybe exceptional coffee and chocolate. And that was pretty much what I experienced when I visited Chocolati last week.

Chocolati, one of Seattle’s premier chocolate makers under the helm of Christian Wong, opened up a couple of cafes about ten years ago in North Seattle and hasn’t looked back since. A significant player in the Seattle Chocolate Scene, Chocolati has developed a first-class business based on quality and excellent service.

In a recent search for a tasty coffee chocolate combo to brighten up my Seattle winter grays, I stopped by Chocolati’s Greenwood Avenue location.seattle coffee, seattle chocolate

I opened the door to hearty laughter, a genuine smile, and a warm welcome by two gregarious baristas and their happy customers. The place is warmly lit offers an incredible selection of locally made confections, coffee, beer, sandwiches, and other munchies that all looked too good to be true.

If you wander towards the back of the café you will see a faux fireplace that warmly ties the room together. People snuggled next to their mochas and espressos were studying, reading, and chatting – all seemingly happy to be exactly where they were.

I sampled I tried a cayenne truffle and Dark Vader raspberry hot chocolate and perched myself near the giant bay window up front where multiple conversations were going being held at once with the baristas who knew their customers and their business. The salted dark chocolate was wonderful with just the right amount contrast between its sweetness and saltiness. I also tried their espresso and it was a perfect finish to my chocolate experience today.

Treat Yourself to Seattle’s Best Chocolate and Coffee

Cafes like these ran by baristas like these are what makes Seattle’s coffee scene so deep. Great customer service, excellent espresso roasted by Lighthouse Roasters, and great chocolate – all of which keeps customers coming back for more has created a devoted following in Seattle.

If you love chocolate (and coffee), you’ll feel right at home at Chocolati. (But really, who doesn’t like chocolate?) You will be delighted with a superior customer service and great coffee drinks accompanied by delicious chocolate.

If you get the chance, stop by and check them out and pick up a few chocolates for the ones you love – they’ll love you back. I promise.
