A Seattle Coffee Summer Destination
One of my favorite places in Seattle is Green Lake on any sunny day – it has an expansive park, neighborhood restaurants, of course, the lake itself, and a few great coffee shops.
The Forza Coffee Company is one of those community Seattle coffee shops that neighbors here flock to enjoy a good cup of coffee. I can see why – the handsome cafe is perfectly located in one of Seattle's great neighborhoods. If you choose to sit inside, the café’s large windows allows customers the perfect spot to people watch or simply enjoy the view of the lake and park.
As you as you walk in, there is quite a welcoming vibe that makes you feel good about your decision to drink coffee here.
Forza, which serves Dillanos coffee, also serves a variety of baked goods and snack items. If you come in the afternoon they also have a great selection of beer and wine. In something of a coffee house rarity – they also have “wine on tap” which I could see was a local favorite among the patrons.
On this particular visit the place was packed with families enjoying coffee, campers trying to get work done, and others chatting over a beer out on their patio area. There are only a couple of Forza’s around in Seattle – most of the 21 or so cafes are further South.
This Forza location has a number of different community offerings – including live music and game nights. “We’re Green Lake’s biggest living room,” said Debbie Macdonald who owns the café with her husband Murray.
They’ve been in this location for about a year and a half and have been well received by their neighbors. The secret to their community success? “The staff here is amazing,” Debbie said.
Forza serves local Macrina and Essential Bakery products, Mighty-O-Donuts – along with other goodies. Did I mention their wine tap? They have a great selection of local wines and beers.
