The great thing about having a blog is meeting other bloggers. Let me introduce you to Jenny – who successfully publishes the highly recognized funny and entertaining Mom Blog (Vlog), Jenny on the Spot. She hails from the Northwest and is often fueled by…wait for it… coffee!

SO, JENNY, WHAT’S YOUR BLOG (VLOG) ABOUT?
My blog is a little bit about everything. Minus some things 🙂 I tell folks it’s a lifestyle blog, with a humor foundation. When I named my blog I chose to go with it because it was catchy – a play on Johnny-on-the-spot. Now I get to joke that I named the blog about me so it gets to be all about me. Except I guess I’m not joking, since it really is about me and my life. But then again, as I share stories I learn that there is always something relatable and I think it’s become not only a place of encouragement for me when I get those “THAT HAPPENS TO ME TOO!” comments, but I think it has been an encouragement to others. And an escape.
At least I hope it is. I am not a newsy-gal. Just life stories from a gal trudging through… failing and truimph-ing with everybody else.
WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF BLOGGING?
Honestly, I am not terribly certain. I have heard rumblings that the blog scene is in decline. Yet I see now wonderful sites popping up all the time. I think what is certainly developing is the commercial side of blogging. In such a shaky financial state that we are in, people are getting quite creative with how they generate even a little bit of extra cash. I expect the way blogs are monetize is in a big shift. I just which I knew exactly how it’s shifting. Where can I buy a crystal ball?
OF COURSE, I GOTTA ASK…WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COFFEE DRINK?
GREAT QUESTION! Probably my very-most favorite coffee drink is a doppio espresso con panna, upside down. 2 shots of espresso poured over a whipped cream… yes… THAT. Occasionally I’ll add a raw sugar for an extra little pop of sweetness!
AS A PARENT, WHAT ROLE DOES COFFEE PLAY IN YOUR LIFE?
Let’s just put it this way, I didn’t drink coffee before I had children!
WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO ENJOY YOUR COFFEE?
With someone. Definitely, my most favorite place to be when I am sipping on a mug (or cup) of goodness is when I am in the company of family or friends. I’d say at home on the couch on a lazy weekend morning, but then sometimes nothing beats hitting up a greasy breakfast spot for drip coffee and greasy potatoes and bacon… or even a walk around the farmer’s market with a lattĂ© in hand. But in all of those scenarios I’m with family or friends. One thing is certain, if I am alone, nothing is better company than a mocha!
DO YOU HAVE A GO-TO CAFÉ TO GO TO IN THE SEATTLE AREA?
I live in Poulsbo, so I hit-up most places here on the Kitsap side. Each place has a different draw for me depending on my mood…and if I’m in the mood for a fancy coffee (mocha, caramel macchiato, white chocolate, etc) I have different places I prefer. But my very favorite cup made on this side is Blackbird Bakery on Bainbridge Island… a double tall. On the Seattle side, Zeitgeist.
DO YOU HAVE A FUNNY STORY THAT INCLUDES COFFEE?
There’s the one time my sister-in-law decided to take on making Mexican coffee… with flames and all. Not fire issues, however, she accidentally grabbed the cumin instead of the cinnamon. My son came up from the basement and inquired, “Why does it smell like B.O. up here?!” We will be laughing about that one for yeeeeears!
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THE WORLD RAN OUT OF COFFEE?
I can even entertain that question! If the world ran out of coffee, I would… I would… I can’t let my head go there. The thought is just too painful…
