Laughter, Coffee Served at Café Racer

Café Racer is to be reopened on March 1, 2018

The Road to Healing from Tragedy At Café Racer

It’s been awhile since I’ve been back to Café Racer. But it was about time that I stopped in again. Located on the outskirts of the University District in Seattle, the eclectic cafe is loved by locals who come in for a quick bite, coffee, beer or local music.

It has been over a year since that incomprehensible tragedy occurred here – a day where five people lost their lives and one was injured. (My previous post here.)

And yet, when I recently visited to have a hearty breakfast along with coffee, the sounds of laughter were once again filling the space. Like an overdue embrace, it was good to see, hear, and feel.

Laughter is the ultimate gauze for healing and so, I was happy to hear it echoing between the bantering of staff and regular patrons.

If you get a chance, stop on by this Seattle coffee spot. The folks serving and tending the espresso machine were friendly, the music was loud, and the vibe was ultra-local. Cafe Racer has become the host for the Official Bad Art Museum and this is definitely something you want to see.

Like Café Racer on Facebook to get their updates and news about reopening. Don’t forget to follow Seattle Coffee Scene and spread the love for good coffee.
