Elegant Coffee Art In a Convenience Store? Well…Yes, this IS Seattle

Sometimes the most beautiful things are found in unlikely places.  A short walk from the University of Washington you will find Cowen Park Grocery store, which sells wonderful Seattle coffee.

This small community convenient store has a good selection of wine, beer, and food. They also have a little café in the corner that comes complete with an outside seating area. And it’s that café that brings me here.

Cady-corner from Cowen Park, if you want to see great coffee art made by the friendliest people with the delicate barista hands, then come by and ask for a double shot latte.

Sitting outside Cowen Park Grocery on this spring afternoon I am reminded of everything that is right about neighborhoods in Seattle: a beautiful park…large and shady green trees… and great coffee that you can get from a convenience store. And I’m talking very good coffee here.

Cowen Park Grocery serves Caffé Umbria coffee, which is simply like swimming in silk bed sheets. If you’re into to great Seattle coffee, this place is worth a stop.

It’s a perfect place to chill and even though it’s located in the U-district, there are no noisy crowds of students, so you can cozy up with a cup of latte and your laptop (and a coconut macaroon!) and do some work online or just check the updates on your smartphone. You might want to go out there for a Sunday brunch – it’s a cute and quite place – something we all need these days.

Seriously, how many cities in the world offer wonderfully fresh roasted coffee beans served as a beautiful piece of art that you can drink? …Except for Verona, Italy, not too many (And trust me this place is a lot cheaper than Verona).

If you’re in the area stop by and pick up a coffee. Ah, and since you’re there why not pick up some bread and TP for home?
