Meet Scott Davis. He is the co-owner of Black Coffee here in Seattle. Scott has an incredible journey and details how Black Coffee came to exist.

What’s Black Coffee? Black Coffee is one of the most popular cafes on Capitol Hill and was born just after Occupy Seattle. Black Coffee has a cooperation model, what means that the workplace is owned and democratically controlled by its workers. Today all members of the co-op are working full-time for their business, share all management, commercial and creative decisions equally, constantly work with each other and share shifts.

Scott is an incredible Social Entrepreneur. He is smart, politically aware, and an excellent businessman. At only the age of 23, he started his own café on the premise of creating a space where social change can/may occur. In the age of corporate coffee shops, Scott has turned coffee shop business on his head and created one popular spot.

I want to personally thank Scott for his time. If you haven’t been to his café, visit him at 501 E. Pine St., Seattle.
