Seattle in the Fall: Coffee and Pumpkins at Spooner Farms

I love Seattle in the autumn. The changing bright colors of the leaves, the latest fall fashions, and pumpkins that come with this season all complement my one constant: coffee.

This past weekend I had wonderful day with my family at Spooner Farms, where you can pick up your choice of pumpkins, squash, corn, and pumpkin butter. There are farm animals for the kids, lots of snacks, and did I mention pumpkins? Lots and lots of pumpkins.

A little background, every year Spooner Farms celebrates a harvest festival – a family friendly event that has a corn maze and lots of seasonal foods, preseves, and jams.

If you haven’t been – you should go.

And don’t worry, they serve coffee too! Thanks to the friendly folks at Urban Timber Coffee, we enjoyed our cup as we walked around in the cool afternoon. The baristas at Urban Timber Coffee seemed very welcoming and provided excellent customer service even though there were a line of people waiting to get their coffee to go. They also serve breakfasts and have a wide choice of pastries and snacks to enjoy with your coffee.

Urban Timber Coffee has several locations in Kent, Puyallup, and Sumner – along with a sweet little coffee trailer. Serving Dillanos beans, Urban Timber Coffee offered the perfect cup to enjoy my time with my family.

My recommendation on Spooner Farms:

  • Expect lots of people (and young ones) on the weekends.
  • Put your boots on because it can get muddy
  • Go early and dress warmly.
  • Bring cash as the pumpkins and squash are cash only. (You can use your debit or credit card in the gift shop. There is an ATM.)

The Spooner Farms Harvest Festival 2013 runs through October 31st.

Hours: 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
